Product Family
Product families are useful if you want to logically divide your product plans into different categories. This allows you to control the email template set and/or the dunning scheme that is to be used in each of your product families.
Email Template
If you choose an email template for your Product Family then this email template will be used on all assigned Product Plans.
Dunning Scheme
If you choose a specific dunning scheme for your Product Family then this dunning scheme will be used on all invoices from Product Plans associated with this Product Family.
