Selecting a payment gateway
In Upodi you can have all the Payment Gateways you want
Upodi integrates with a variety of payment gateways. From credit card clearance, to bank automation, auto billing platforms, manual invoices and mobile payment providers.
When choosing a payment gateway, you should consider the following elements:
- Currency of the services you charge your customers. In other words, in which countries you conduct business. Whilst Upodi supports any currency you may require, payment gateways are constructed to service two types of currencies - charged currency and merchant currency.
Charged currency is the currency in which the transaction is conducted. Typically gateways support any and converts the currency upon claiming funds on the customers bank account.
Currency conversion is thereby conducted on the final charge, not in Upodi.
Merchant currency is the currency in which funds are transferred to your account. This is typically the local currency of your country or bank.
- What medium of payment. Do you want to charge debit, credit or a bank check? Do you need VISA, Mastercard, AMEX or all of the above?
- Price of the medium vs. your service charge. Using different pricing charges, with different payment metrics might incur increased cost. Use with caution.
